Ulrich Grillo is a German entrepreneur, vice-president of the federal association of German industry called The Voice of German Industry (BDI). The BDI conveys the interests of German industry to the political decision-makers, and in the process it provides support for business enterprises engaged in global competition. He is also a co-owner of the Grillo-Werke in Duisburg, which he has been managing since 2004.
He worked as a certified public accountant and management consultant for several years. He also served as a member of the Executive Board of the Rheinmetall AG, an automotive parts supplier and military technology group with around 23,000 employees headquartered in Düsseldorf. Since 2003, Grillo took part in the presidency of the industry association Wirtschaftsprüfung Metalle.
He became head of the Committee for Raw Material Policies at the BDI in 2006. In 2011, he was promoted to Vice President of the BDI. From 2013 until 2016 he served as president of the BDI in Berlin. Since the beginning of January 2017, he stepped down for his successor Dieter Kempf and became vice-president again.
He studied Business Management at the Westfälische Wilhelms-University in Münster and graduated in 1987.
