Nina Trentmann is a business and finance journalist, covering corporate finance for the Wall Street Journal in London. Originally from Germany, she has been working in the U.K. since 2013. Working for WELT N24, one of the major national news outlets in Germany, she reported on banking and the financial industry, fintech, manufacturing, start-ups and energy. In 2012, Nina was awarded the Georg von Holtzbrinck Preis für Wirtschaftspublizistik, one of the major prizes for business reporting in Germany.
Besides her work as a U.K. Business Correspondent, she is particularly interested in business and finance in China, with particular emphasis on topics like RMB-internationalisation, Made in China 2025 and foreign firms in China. Prior to her job in London, she was based in Shanghai, China, and continues to be dispatched to China for periodical assignments.
Nina holds a double master’s degree in Media and Global Communications from The London School of Economics (LSE) and Fudan University in Shanghai.
